The first lens I bought after getting my T6 kit was the YongNuo 50mm 1.8. She makes a lot of noise when you auto focus but the images have come out the best so far with it. At the price tag of $50 I can't complain.

I think the Nikon 50mm f/1.8 is a great lens for beginners/intermediate. And it's pretty cheap

I had to learn the basics using my Nikon D3000 with a 50mm AF 1.8 D as my main lens a year ago lol
Luckily I was able to borrow lenses from my school and the old 50 actually makes for a cool lens for video now that I'm on a D3400.

Hey Chris i'll be buying the Nikon D3400 and I don't know which lens to buy. I like to film and photograph landscapes, so I like a bit of wide angle and also zoom. So which lens would you recommend me for $75?
    I've seen the Nikon 35-70mm f/3.5 AI, is it good? I don't know, for that price I can't find like a 10-18mm.
Thanks and btw keep up with the good work. from Argentina!

The Nikon 18-55 is a crapy unsharp lens. No one should pay $$ for that one. If they don't have the $$ for a reasonable zoom then just get a small prime. Or the 18-105 and 18-140 are ok for kit lens's. But not the 18-55.

Back in the film days..cameras used to come with a 50 1.8. They should go back to that..better glass actually at a cheaper price point.

Hi Chris! I'm planning to go to Europe on holiday this summer. I've been researching DSLR cameras & plan on purchasing one as this will be my first. I'm leaning towards the Canon t6i or either the Canon 80D. I love to take pictures as well as videos. I generally take photos/videos of people, the environment, and landscape (buildings). Which one would you suggest along with an everyday lens to start? (I know that the Nifty Fifty should be a part of my equipment). Thanks
