I don't understand the poeple who buy new cameras, when the resell value of a compact camera drops about in half in a year or less, because no one buy them. Why not buy a second hand one, and for that money you can buy a really good mirrorless from Sony, which isn't all that big in the first place, or an Olympus micro 4/3.
Also a compact camera, especially the Sony range, have a really slow f/stop, which in dim light they are really useless. I mean even Microsoft cheap phones have an f/2 lens, while an average compact camera has f2.8-f3.3, which is alot darker.

0:40 That's either the Droid Ultra or Droid Maxx, phones The Verge gave 4.7/10 and 6/10. I guess their own staff don't take their reviews seriously and buy the products anyway!

The Canon SX230 HS was my first high quality digital camera that really got me into photos and video. I use my Canon Rebel T3i for photography work now but when people ask me for a consumer camera, I will usually recommend the latest in the Canon SX lineup.

The Canon SX280HS has a serious issue with video and battery life. Basically, forget about shooting video with zooming, the battery will be dead in a few minutes.
